In progress Projects

Here are some of my latest projects I am working on...

This is a semi quick value sketch of a model (that I turned into a Faerie). I have a photocopy

of the drawing here that will be painted over in acrylic paint. Hopefully she will turn out well!

For now... I am actually digging the value sketch, I might do more...

Here we have a very early and simple character concept being developed. In character design, we always must be sure to give ourselves plenty of options! Right? It's like seeing color for the first time, but only seeing the color blue. Well... My first reaction might be "ooo! blue! That is my favorite color!" but! Since blue is the only color I have ever seen, how can I be sure?

Same goes with character concepting. Options options options. Here I have a simple spread that I created from one of my gesture drawings. I took the gesture drawing, pushed it's form and anatomy a bit further... and then copied it a few times and began working on the wing and hair designs....

While the left wing designs and hair designs are showing some progress in terms of form... I think the right needs work.

Basic graphic design skills are absolutely essential here for leading the eye gently along the form of this character. Interesting Curves help accentuate her female anatomy as well.

With Every character concept, we always start off with quick n dirty sillouette sketches. Each of these are thrown down in under a minute. The idea is to make an interesting shape with the intention of pushing form and anatomy later on during the design project. The idea of this character is a Faerie named "Glitch". One of her wings is curvy and natural looking, while the other is a glitchy digital image. She is incredibly curious, Slightly feminine with a hint of empowerment. Loves to constantly write things down, and indulge her feeling in her writings of scientific and personal intentions.

Gesture Drawings

Simple gestures! Made for practicing and possible future utility. All sketched in under 5 minutes for the sake of building speed and learning to be more efficent and economic with lines and forms.
