The anatomy of a faerie

For my anatomy class I had to do an anatomy project! I got to sorta freestyle it... So I decided I would do an Xray of a faerie! This old painting I started a while ago, remember it? Yup! Well I finished painting the figure! Then I took it in photoshop and on a new layer sketched and painted the bones. I truly feel that this was an enlightening experience for me as an artist, and I have learned a lot from it in terms of how anatomy affects form and gesture.

Face Type Sheet

SO HERE IT FINALLY IS! The three options that I have finally formulated for the face of my character I am creating "glitch". As you can tell from my continually pushed back promises of having this up... I was quite methodical with this portion...

Why?

The face of a character is everything. In this case... it reveals what style she is in, her personality, expressions... ect... the face is everything! It truly sets the pace for the entire character and will be the ultimate form of branding and originality for my character...

So... Which face do you guys like?

Gestures

Here is a gesture for the day. A woman leaning against a wall. I feel like I sorta got the hips a bit wrong.. I mean... it feels decent, but I know it definitely could be pushed.

Heh, I have a lot of female gestures. I guess they are just more fun... *shrug*

Big progress!

Ohh man... for two days I have been working like mad to get this sculpture to a more finished state. I am actually very happy with the progress I have made...

Things I have accomplished

-Thined out her exoskeleton and gave more definition back to her form

-filled in all 6 spikes

-finished both webbed hands

-Blocked in feet

-cut all excess wire

-blocked in basic terrain

Things I need to do...

-finish head, helmet lips facial structure
-Finish hair

-Finalize feet

-Finalize terrain

-correct various anatomy flaws

-smooth entire sculpture out +texture

Enjoy, and please do feel free to let me know what you think.
